BRIDGES TO POLAND

Send books in English to schools in Poland

We have completed the third shipment of books to schools in Poland. We have added Tarnow to our list of cities which include Warsaw, Gdansk, Plock and Gryfice. Beginning in January 2000 we are accepting children's picture books, young adult readers, novels, English language dictionaries, complete sets of encyclopedias (published within the last 20 years); we cannot accept cook books, technical/math and science text books, and the like. Monetary donations are continuously accepted to help defray shipping costs.

SPECIAL CHRISTMAS FOR CHILDREN!

We plan special Christmas' for children which will include underprivileged American children, sweets for orphans in Poland and a Santa grab-bag for children. Each $10 donation will provide a shoebox-full of toys for an American child, candies to be distributed to orphanages in various Polish cities on St. Nicholas' Day. Costs cover contents and shipping. As a token of appreciation, each donor will receive a sheet of stickers from Poland depicting St. Nicholas giving a gift to a child.

A Christmas Open House for children is held during the week before Christmas on Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the Home Office, 333 Hackensack Street, Carlstadt, NJ. The Association invites all children to pull a present out of Santa's bag! Call (201)935-2807 for more information.
