A bus trip was organized by the Association on March 27, 1999. Fifty-five persons journeyed to Baltimore leaving from Carlstadt with a stop for a group at the Bayway Polish Home in Elizabeth. Tour participants were treated to coffee as distributed by the Secretary and Home Office Staff; then viewed a video giving the historical and physical bacground of Poland as prepared by the Walters Gallery.
The first stop of the tour was Baltimore's Inner Harbour, giving everyone a chance to sightsee and eat lunch either in one of the many eateries or have their own picnic. Then, on to the Gallery.
The exhibit spanned the years 1572-1764 and was organized into sections showing the Monarchy, the Military, the Nobility and Religion. The items on exhibit were extraordinary and were gathered from many collections throughout Poland. The exhibit tour was narrated by Christine Baranski with background music from the era. It was a most magnificent experience to view these examples of the lifestyle of the Baroque era of Poland.
